This model/artdoll comes on a wooden base that is covered in secured moss. A dowel rod stabilizes the character onto the base, but can be removed to aid in packing and storage. The character is not 100% attached to the base and is standing on their own with the dowel rod being used as a type of "safety" feature or back up should the base be jarred thus preventing the character from toppling over. With that said, anytime you move the piece, do so by placing one hand under the base and holding onto the back of the character with your other hand. This will aid in safely moving the piece. Never move it by holding just the base alone. Each piece is signed on the bottom of the base along with the limited edition number and the name of the piece. Despite the word "doll" being used in the description, it is anything but. This sculpture is not a toy nor one for children to play with. The body is posable, but it is recommended that movement only be made by holding onto the arms, legs, and body for repositioning. Never reposition by holding onto the hands or the feet. While I have devised my own mixture of flexible and firm polymer clay for my pieces, if dropped they still will break. While being more substantial than porcelain or glass, polymer clay is still fragile. Due to the nature of the moss being real it may fade over time despite the paint that I have added.
